Johnson Utilities, Update from Interim Manager

During an update from Johnson Utilities, LLC, the company's Interim Manager, EPCOR, informed the Arizona Corporation Commission that pressure issues in the Morning Sun Farms and Copper Basin have improved. Construction of a third vessel at the main yard has been completed. This increased production by 500 gallons per minute at the facility, the system is available for manual operation.
The Promenade Well 2 has been tested and equipped. The well can produce 2.6 million gallons per day into the distribution system. The well has low nitrate concentrations and is currently operated on generator power. The well has helped areas that have had low pressures and will further improve water pressures once full operation has been assumed.
The Pecan effluent filter project phase two has been completed. This added 11 filters to the existing five filter set. This upgrade gives the ability to produce cleaner effluent and adds redundancy to the process. Pecan expansion is on hold pending ownership securing financing.
Due to outdated treatment technology, the Section 11 wastewater treatment plant continues to be out of compliance for water and air quality constituents. Many improvements have been made to the plant and the wetlands, which has greatly improved noxious odor issues, but the plant is not capable of coming into compliance with the amount of flows currently going to the plant. The only way to come into compliance for all regulatory requirements is to build the Copper Basin plant and decommission the Section 11 plant.
Regarding customer care and outreach, overall customer satisfaction for June was at 86 percent. EPCOR continues to analyze to determine if follow up, training or education needs to occur.
